Tabitha's Heart serves desperately poor slum communities in the heart of Calcutta, India. To bring lasting change and hope to these communities, they focus on the needs of the children, most of whom would otherwise spend their days on the streets. Through education centers, a school sponsorship program, children’s homes, drug rehabilitation programs, and other strategic ministries they are giving street children the academic, social, and spiritual foundation they need to find hope and break the cycle of poverty. Rachel, the founder of Tabitha's Heart, lives in Hutchinson when she is not in India.
The New Life Skills Centre is located in Montego Bay, Jamaica and was started by Paul and Michelle Barton in 2014, who used to attend CrossPoint Church. The mission of the centre is to 1.) educate and train the underprivileged and fatherless so they can provide for themselves and their families, breaking the cycle of poverty; and 2.) share the gospel and teach the Word of God so youth can find hope and salvation through Him. The need is great with 1 million of the 2.7 million people on the island living at or below the poverty line and nearly 80% of children being born out of wedlock.
Extreme, hunger, drought, and conflict are deadly forces that children and families in the countries of Somalia, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Kenya are facing. We will give so that they can receive emergency food, clean water, and access to life-saving medical care. Because of grant funds, our gift will have 11x the impact!
